Over garliced and loving it

I made a garlic and potato soup lst night. I am still looking for a good Czech Garlic Soup recipe like I had in Prague, it goes best with fog. I over garliced it but it wasn't nearly garlicy enough. I sure am though

Urban Landscape

And now, a photographic study of the dense urban landscape of Hong Kong. It's on view at a gallery in SF, see link for photos and more info.

"are you trying to make us hungry/drool?"

I spent Sunday afternoon making pizza with homemade dough and sauce and adequate farmer's market garlic and veggies. For lunch, I warmed a slice in the toaster oven in my office.

There's a welcome smell around noon.

Toasty

I brought my toaster oven into my office. I seem to be here more anyway. My friend loaned me a spare one for home. I toasted a pumpkin muffin earlier, nice!

I should save my orange peels and toss some in after my next use, fire hazard or air freshener?

Root Season

I love root vegetables in the winter.

I guess it's just because it's cold. I wonder if root vegetables thrive in cold seasons especially or is it just that summer vegetables aren't as flamboyant so root vegetables stand out. Someone at work was asking why soviet and scandanavian cuisines alike love their beets and parsnips. I said "because it's cold there and root vegetables grow best... look, I'm eating root vegetables and I'm wearing a wool hat, because it's cold and that is what's available." Maybe root vegetables go well with a hat. And I do love my hat.

BTW pointing something out to Sesame is impossible because he just looks at my finger, hoping it will lead to food.

oooh action movie

Now and then an action movie tickles my interest. Attack on Precint 13 looks interesting, I hope it actually is. Maybe I should see the original version by John Carpenter first.

Perpetual Motion Roadshow is back

I'm so excited for another season of Perpetual Motion Roadshow. Writers, cartoonists, artists of all kinds pile into a car and drive up and down various coasts in the US performing free shows for those cool enough to enjoy it. Interested in buying a zine, a book, a CD or other such wares? They're for sale.

The roadshow tours the west coast during the winter and this week is the first show. I'll be at the San Jose show at Gallery AD this Friday.
