Free Engraving
Something tells me that offering Free Engraving with purchase of an iPod is a brilliant attempt to make used iPods harder to resell.
I could see how people may snub the "God's my Copilot" iPod in favor of a new iPod, engraved with "You are Lisa Simpson" or something more personal. You could buy a Hollywood commemorative engraved iPod here. Authenticity would be a hard thing to prove, which is probably why the seller isn't trying to get a premium on the price, but this is an example where engraving something with a wide appeal may not necessarily make it harder to sell.
I can't wait for delivery of my "Beer, Sleep and Boobs" iPod.
